Feb. 2005 - Present                              Information Technology Professional – Instructional Technology Specialist / Principal Support Specialist, Computing Services, University of Minnesota , Morris. Primary responsibility for providing instructional technology support and training to faculty, as well as providing advanced level support for computing to all students, faculty and staff. Preparing and teaching courses and workshops for faculty, staff, and students. Writing training materials, instructional handouts, and web pages. Training and supporting World-Wide-Web information providers and faculty who have a Web presence in their courses. Innovative Teaching Consultant to the Faculty Technology Bush Grant.

 

July 1, 2004 - Feb. 2005                      Interim Director, Computing Services, University of Minnesota, Morris. Manage Computing Services full-time staff of 8 and student workers (about 15 per year).  Provide and equip public computer labs and classrooms (130 computers in seven locations).  Manage central servers for web, mail, applications, print management, and many other functions.  Manage the UMM Web site and collaborate on its design and content. Oversee central help desk and technical support services for students, faculty, and staff. Promote and support the use of instructional technology among UMM faculty. Expand the use of technology through training, user education, and other means. Oversee departmental budget.  Assist the Dean's Office with faculty computer replacements. Serve as Technical Coordinator for GenEdWeb online courses. Communicate effectively with UMM's students, faculty, staff, and others about current and new technologies, services, opportunities, and threats. Represent Morris campus in all-University technology planning.  Serve on the Administrative Committee, the Academic Support Services Committee, and the UMM Web Advisory Group.

Mary Martelle Memorial Award, June 1987. Awarded annually to a staff member who exemplifies in his/her daily work a commitment to the University and a consistent contribution to the quality of campus life, to the academic enterprise, or to the physical environment of the campus.

 

Citizen’s Bank Award for Community Service, June 1987.  This was a monthly award program that recognized citizens for exemplary service to the community.

 

Outstanding Support Staff Award, 1995.  Awarded annually, this award recognizes a staff member for outstanding service based on five criteria:  1) Job performance and competence, 2) cooperative spirit and helping attitude, 3) innovative ideas, 4) University service, and 5) other activities and accomplishments.
