The SWELL site is located in the first township to be settled in Stevens County. In the past 8 years this site has been developed to include groomed trails, prairie area, a classroom and pond study deck, and a historic log cabin, which are all used for environmental and historical education. Students in the county are invited to schedule Spring and Fall lessons and field trips that are conducted by an on-site educator. Other local and out-of-county groups request the site for education and retreat space. |

The Museum is located in the Carnegie library building, which is on the National Register of Historic sites. Exhibits on the main floor are either permanent or ones that rotate so there is always a fresh educational exhibit. Research is provided as well as a very fine collection and archival information that documents the History of Stevens County. |

| Noordman's Farm |

The Noordmans, along with their four children, have farmed Dale's home farm since the early 1980's. 250 acres of the 575 acre farm were converted to organic production in the early 1990's. The Noordmans also sell "free range" organically raised chickens and turkeys as well as antibiotic-hormone free pasture fed beef. When they decided to farm organically, it took six years to become certified. All 575 acres are certified organic as of 2000/2001. |
