Multicultural Campus Life Participants in the Multicultural Student Leadership Retreat As a public liberal arts college founded in the 1960s, UMM brings to life the vision of undergraduate education of the highest quality for talented students of all backgrounds. For 45 years UMM has made a rigorous liberal arts experience accessible and affordable for students who recognize a great value and unique opportunity in higher education, including students who were traditionally underserved in higher education - students from rural areas, first generation college students, students of color, students of modest or low financial means, non-traditional students, and students with disabilities, among others. All members of the campus community benefit from the diverse backgrounds and experiences of their peers in academic study and campus life. Our mission: "to empower members of the campus community to particulate fully and thoughtfully in a diverse society - regionally, nationally, and globally". |
