Get ready to travel!
You've explored your options. You've reviewed your goals. You've selected a country where you can learn, grow, and make a
difference.
It's time to get ready to travel!
We've prepared two documents to help students, faculty and staff
understand what's necessary and expected when
traveling abroad for academic activities. The Study Abroad Handbook will help
GST or ELTAP participants prepare to teach, research, or serve abroad.
The second is the University of
Minnesota Board of
Regents Academic Code of Conduct, a Word doc which opens or downloads in a new/untitled window. This policy, including
information for activity abroad, applies to all participants in UMM programs including GST, ELTAP, and all study abroad
opportunities.
Plan ahead to avoid travel related issues. Remember:
You will need to maintain U.S. health insurance throughout your
GST/ELTAP study abroad experience.
The date on your passport must be current with at least six months
remaining until expiration upon your planned return to the U.S.
Some countries require a visa.
Some countries require entry/exit fees.
It is important to receive all recommended immunizations prior to
traveling to your host country. Some countries require proof of
immunizations.
