Program Changes

UMM TEP has not made significant changes to the conceptual framework since the previous visit. Our program has always been grounded in the liberal arts with rigorous preparation in general education, areas of special emphasis, and professional education courses. We have worked to strengthen our program components and remain true to our program characteristics. In 2004, our disposition goals were amended to include other professional attitudes that we believed were important for our candidates to demonstrate. We also have clarified our central goal so that it is clear that our candidates strive to ensure student learning for all students in all places. We believe that this important clarification matches our institution’s mission for global citizenship and intercultural competence, our unit’s commitment to diversity and student learning, and the personal and professional aspirations of our candidates.
