USA SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

1) Recipient must be one of these relatives of a United Staff Association (USA) staff member who is employed at least 50% time:
Child Step-child Grandchild Spouse
Registered Domestic Partner Child of a Registered Domestic Partner
2) Preference will be given to full-time students.
3) Students attending UMM under the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Act (PSEOA) are not eligible.
4) Scholarships will be awarded spring semester. Recipient must be attending UMM the semester the scholarship is awarded.
5) Recipient must show scholastic achievement (as measured by GPA), campus and community leadership, other achievements, and activities and interests. If committee deliberations determine that all four criteria are equally met, the scholarship will be given to the applicant with the highest number of accumulated credits. If the number of accumulated credits is equal, financial need (as determined by the UMM Office of Financial Aid) will be the determining factor.
6) Students can receive the scholarship more than once, however, preference will be given to new applicants.
7) The award will be presented to the recipient in a check from the Association to be used as he/she chooses.
8) If there is no applicant meeting all four of the required criteria, no award will be granted.
