Workload Management Communication Facilitator. THIS IS NOT A CONTRACT. This form is brought to you courtesy of the 2001-2002 USA Executive Committee; we hope it is helpful. It is intended to assist staff in communicating with supervisors about their workloads. You are encouraged to give your supervisor a copy of this form in advance of any meeting with him/her. You may wish to include the appropriate steward or representative in any meetings with a supervisor, but consider giving the supervisor a chance to work things out with just you first. THIS FORM WAS CREATED IN THE BELIEF THAT SUPERVISORS AT UMM are willing to help their staff have manageable, fulfilling workloads if they are given the information necessary to do so. If you are unable to resolve workload difficulties by communicating with your supervisor, contact the appropriate steward, representative, or the Labor Management Committee. Contact Rebecca Webb if you'd like assistance in preparing this form. 1. Was there a specific event that caused your workload to become problematic? (hiring freeze, new project/s, additional personnel to support, accumulation of on-going workload, other). If YES, please describe. 2. What are the problematic parts of your workload? (Be as specific as possible concerning specific tasks and the number of hours necessary to complete them). 3. What are your ideas for reducing your workload to manageable level (might include doing tasks less frequently, altering the way they are performed, omitting them for a specific limited time period, or omitting them permanently.). REMEMBER THAT IT MAY BE A VIOLATION OF UNION CONTRACTS TO USE STUDENT LABOR FOR CERTAIN TASKS. You may wish to leave one blank in case you and your supervisor want to develop an alternative idea together. A. B. C.
