Academic Programs at UMM

UMM provides outstanding academic programs in support of its mission to provide an exceptional liberal arts education. We offer 30 majors from among various disciplines which are organized, in part, into 4 divisions: Education, the Humanities, Science & Mathematics, and the Social Sciences. Each division has an office and an administrator, the division chair. Faculty offices are frequently located in the same building or as close as possible to the division office.

The campus's chief academic officer, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dean, oversees Interdisciplinary Studies where courses taught by instructors from various disciplines (such as European Studies or the First Year Seminar) are managed. In addition, UMM has an Office of Continuing Education and Regional Programs (CERP) which offers evening, May Session, and summer classes to current students and area residents in support of UMM's liberal arts mission.

*A major and/or minor is available in this discipline.  A complete list of majors is available in the 2007-2009 Morris Catalog.

UMM students can also work closely with faculty and counselors to design their own interdisciplinary major or "area of concentration." Area of concentration prototypes have already been given provisional approval by the dean. Students must fill out the appropriate forms and request final approval.
