European Studies - a rare opportunity!

Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria

UMM is one of fewer than two dozen undergraduate institutions in the U.S. to offer a European Studies major, featuring courses such as "Rococo to Revolution," "Modern Irish Literature," "Intercultural Communication Theory," and "Women in Early Modern Europe." This discipline draws faculty from across the campus, affording students an opportunity to study Europe through the perspsective of professors of art, economics, literature, languages, history, political science, music, and theatre.

Don't forget to check out Study Abroad for great opportunities to enhance your coursework in European Studies. Here, for example, is the brochure from the 2008 trip to a wonderful recurring Study Abroad destination..."Brunnenburg and Beyond!"

Read about a career abroad! On Page 7 of this issue of UMM's campus newspaper, you'll find the story of Kevin Timmins '92, a European Studies major working abroad in Freising, Germany.
