The Campus Police Department hired James Ciaramitaro to fill the nine-month police officer position. Officer Ciaramitaro began working for the University Police Department in August of 2002, after being with the Morris Police Department for the past two years.
The long awaited
implementation of the magnetic card access system is scheduled for installation
in the Science Building for September of 2003. Card access is also being planned for the Social Science
Renovation Project.
The RAD (Rape Aggression
Defense System) course taught by Officers Jennifer Lund and Ross Tiegs is now
being offered for college credit.

University Police Department
Officers will be part of a Tactical Response Team that consists of officers
from the University Police Department, Morris Police Department and the Stevens
County Sheriff's Office.
The University Police
Department will be offering to University students the opportunity to register
and store information (such as serial numbers) on their personal property and
valuables.
