During the 2007-08 year the following topics were discussed.
It is important for our teacher education program to communicate and have connections with the many disciplines and majors at UMM. Continued interaction with other divisions and disciplines strengthens our education programs. Both the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Minnesota Board of Teaching reviews our teacher education programs and determines how well they are integrated within the liberal arts setting. The Teacher Education Committee reinforces the level of commitment between our Elementary and Secondary Education programs and our campus. This commitment allows UMM to remain in good standing for continued state and national accreditation.
Recommendation: Members of the Teacher Education Committee recommend continuation of this committee until the new constitution is approved.
