Internship Search

The Environmental Studies major includes a required internship or research experience. The following links may be useful as you seek to find a suitable placement:

1. UMM Career Center Job Search

This list is updated as the UMM career center receives notice of relevant internship opportunities. Set the search to "internships" (default is "jobs"). Click on "Environmental Studies."

2. InternPost

InternPost is compiled by St. Cloud State University and only lists opportunities in Minnesota. To search for environmently-oriented internships, use the search bar at the top of the page.

3. GoldPASS

GoldPASS is a job search site provided by the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (although any student in the U of M system can use the site). Registration is required. Students are able to search for jobs or internships based on keyword, post date, job type (internship, full time, part time, etc), and several other criteria.

4. Center for Small Towns job and internship listings

The Center for Small towns acts a clearinghouse for all sorts of opportunities in West Central Minnesota. This is a great place to find internships near UMM.

5. Macalester College environmental internship listings

A great list of Twin Cities area offerings.

6. NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)

The link to takes you to the site search for a program that is the gold-standard for students wishing to get paid summer work in the sciences. Many of the offerings are relevant for Environmental Studies.

In addition, students may set up research experiences at UMM for credit or for pay via the MAP and UROP programs. Contact a professor you might like to work with to discuss potential opporunities.
