Prof. Buchanan has already reserved group airline tickets with Iceland Air at the rate of $910 per person, plus approximately $258 in taxes and fees, for a total of $1168 (taxes can change a bit, so plan on $1200, just to be safe). You will be billed for your ticket by UMM’s Center for International Programs in March. If you plan to travel on your own either before or after the July in Paris Program or do not plan to fly with the group for some other reason (you are departing from a city other than Minneapolis, for example)...
› you should make your own flight arrangements. Alert me (buchansb@morris.umn.edu) that you are making your own arrangements, so that we do not book a seat for you with the group and so you are not billed for the group ticket.
› you will need to send me your itinerary so I know when you are traveling.
› you are responsible for travel from the airport to our lodgings in Paris at the Fondation des Etats-Unis. I will provide the address & telephone number, along with suggestions for transportation, and anxiously await your arrival
› you should plan to arrive on July 1, like the rest of the group, since you will need to register at the Sorbonne and take the placement exam on that date. Late arrival or early departure will adversely affect your grade.
› After March 15, the group air travel will be finalized. After this date, the cost of airfare (the price of your ticket in our group rate) is non-refundable, should you decide to make your own travel arrangements or withdraw from the program.
› Make every effort to meet the payment schedule: Submit $1,500 by April 15, 2008• Submit the balance due by May 1, 2008 (special arrangements can be made to extend these deadlines by contacting the Center for Int'l Programs at vanepssk@morris.umn.edu).
