July in Paris Lodging

Home for most of our stay will be the Fondation des Etats-Unis, located in the Cite Universitaire, a beautiful campus facility across from the Parc Montsouris with all of the of conveniences you need, including laundry facilities, two restaurants, tennis courts, library. It is situated just across from the metro stop Cité Universitaire which is linked by high speed RER trains to local and suburban stations, including Charles De Gaulle Airport. So you are just minutes away from the Latin Quarter, the Luxembourg Garden, Montparnasse, and the Champs-Elysées.
Students live in individual rooms with shower and cooking facilities on each floor. Game TV room and library are located on the ground floor.

The Fondation des Etats-Unis is one of thirty- seven residences located on the spacious grounds of the Cité Universitaire. Each of the residences was constructed by a country to house its students in Paris. The architecture is varied and interesting; the famous Swiss architect Le Corbusier built the Swiss and Brazilian residences, for example.

One of the simple pleasures of living at the Fondation: preparing a meal and dining outdoors on the terrace! It's also a great place to meet people--like the artist -in-residence Jon Shimony who was working on a project of painting the Paris skies one summer while we were there and could be seen each evening, brush and palette in hand, catching the setting sun in oils.
