Tuesday, April 8, 2008 | 22nd Annual Edith R. Farrell Poetry Contest
We will gather for our most important tradition. Students compete at their level of proficiency for a variety of prizes, carefully preparing a French or Francophone poem for recitation. Last year, some sixty students gathered for an evening of food, live original music (in French), and poetry. We will also be inducting at least one new member into Pi Delta Phi, The French National Honor Society. In Oyate Hall beginning at 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public--please join us!
May 3, 2008 | Travel to the Twin Cities for production of Marivaux's Jeu de l'amour et du hasard by presented La Chandelle Verte
We will be traveling as a group to the College of Saint Catherine's for a production of Marivaux's Game of Love and Chance (in French). La Chandelle Verte is a theater troupe of national renown that specializes in making French theater accessible to students of French. La Chandelle Verte visited UMM in the spring of 2004 to present Corneille's Illusion Comique and it was vraiment merveilleux! We've since been to the Cities for Une Soirée Ionesco, another of La Chandelle Verte's fantastic productions. (Can you tell we are big fans?) Stay tuned for more details...
