Tournées Festival of Francophone Films 2008

Thanks to the generous support of the French-American Cultural Exchange, Entre Nous and the French Discipline are able to bring a Tournées Film Festival to UMM and the Morris community for the second consecutive year. This year's Tournées Festival includes five award-winning, feature films. Films are in French with English subtitles. For more info, contact Prof. Tammy Berberi.

Paris, je t'aime will be shown on Valentine's Day (a Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. at the Morris Theatre on East 6th Street in Morris, MN. This is a fundraider to benefit the Morris Theatre Revitalization Project. Admission is free, donations are strongly encouraged.

All other festival screenings will be on Fridays at 7:00 p.m. in the UMM Science Auditorium in conjunction with the the CAC Film Series.


Chats Perchés

In November 2001, French cinema-essayist Chris Marker became intrigued by the sudden appearance of grinning yellow cat paintings on Paris buildings and public surfaces. More info

Fauteuil d'orchestre

One day, Jessica decides to go to Paris and finds a job at a café frequented by the "tout Paris". Indeed, it is located on Avenue Montaigne, in the wealthy section of Paris. Her customers include an array of artistic figures.

Paris, je t'aime
A patchwork of eighteen short films by different directors. Each one had to tell a story located in one of Paris' “arrondissements” in less than five minutes. More info

Rois et reine
Invoking everything from Shakespeare and Hitchcock to Moby Dick, the film is a heartbreaking, hilarious melodrama of the intrigues and entanglements of ex-spouses Nora and Ismaël. More info
