Laissez les bons temps rouler!...

You think you speak French, and then a Cajun band comes to town! Friday, September 5, 2003, we were pleased to welcome Minneapolis' New Riverside Ramblers to Morris for a cajun block party. The evening began with a picnic of traditional cajun food and continued with lots of loud, fun music and lessons in Cajun French as well as line dancing. Février en Provence...

Friday, February 27, 2004, members of Entre Nous prepared and served a traditional Provençal meal to nearly 90 hungry French enthusiasts in Morris: taboulé, niçoise chicken, ratatouille, potatoes au gratin, and, to top it off, mousse au chocolat..We would like to thank Eric and Jess from Morris Area High School, Rachel Farrell, Amanda Hinzmann, Annika Bergman, Lauren Goodrich, Heather Peterson, Anna Harrington, Megan Ludescher, Sarah Neenan, Beka Hennessey, Katie Larson, Afton Niemira, Vanessa Nogle, Kristin Gefre, & Gina Westlund, who kept us all organized. Merci à toutes!

The Annual Edith R Farrell Poetry Contest

In spring 2008, the French Discipline will host the 22nd annual contest, where students at all levels of French will compete for prizes by reciting their favorite Francophone poem. A first prize is awarded at each level (beginning, intermediate, and advanced), as well as a prize for Most Creative Interpretation and Most Improved French. Last year, nearly sixty students participated. The audience enjoys dessert and drinks, a printed program that includes all the poems in their entirety, and (of course!) watching their friends perform.
