Professor Edith Borchardt, a Vienna-born Vassar graduate with a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and a background in the romantic writings of Heinrich von Kleist, is highly esteemed by UMM students for her outstanding classes in German literature. Her teaching strengths spring in part from her involvement with innovative methods and UMM's Assessment of Student Learning Committee. She is joined by instructors from across the faculty offering classes in conversation, literature, cinema, women's issues, and Austrian studies, among others.
