LENNICK, T.V.

T.V. Lennick began working for Cooperative Power Association (CPA) as an electrical engineer in 1963, a few months after CPA was organized. A western North Dakota native, he worked for a utility in that area for two years before joining the Army where he was commissioned first lieutenant in the artillery. After military service he studied at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and graduated as an electrical engineer in 1957. He worked for a generative and transmission cooperative (Min-Kota) in Grand Forks while attending college. After graduation he went to work for Material Industries in Milwaukee (later McGraw-Edison) on a high voltage testing project. In 1959 he returned to Minot, North Dakota, and worked for Central Power Electric Cooperative until 1963 when he joined CPA as an engineer. He was assistant manager there three years prior to becoming a manager in 1974. He described being general manager as akin to being president of a corporation. Responsibilities include securing staff and overseeing daily operations under the guidelines outlined by the board of directors. [1056]
