Interdisciplinary Studies

A solid academic program includes work across the disciplines; all UMM students complete a variety of courses. If they wish, they may major in a subject that will feature courses from multiple disciplines, such as:

  • African American Studies
  • American Indian Studies
  • European Studies
  • Latin American Area Studies
  • Liberal Arts for the Human Services

Students receive an introduction to interdisciplinary work through the First Year Seminar, a course that brings together faculty from all four divisions to introduce students in their first year at UMM to the fundamentals of a liberal arts education.

For more information on interdisciplinary work at UMM, contact the Dean's Office.
