Sheryl D. Breen

Sheri Breen, Assistant Professor of Political Science, teaches courses in the history of political thought, environmental political theory, political ethics and international political theory. She earned her Ph.D. in political science from the University of Minnesota and enjoyed an earlier career as a political journalist and newspaper editor. Her research focuses on an ecological reformulation of property theory, sustainable agriculture and stewardship.

Seung-Ho Joo, Professor of Political Science, received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the Pennsylvania State University in 1993. He held teaching positions at Penn State, Yonsei University (Seoul), and Inha University. Since he joined the UMM in 1995, he has taught a wide range of courses in the international relations field. His research interest areas include Russo-Korean relations, Korean foreign relations, and international relations of Northeast Asia. He is Associate Editor for North America of the journal, Pacific Focus and former President of the Association of Korean Political Studies.

Paula O'Loughlin, Professor of Political Science. is known at UMM for her keen fashion sense and as Supreme Allied Commander. Since second grade, her not so secret ambitions have been world domination, UMM political science and the New York Yankees. In her free time, she enjoy biking, visiting obscure historic sites throughout the world, and mesmerizing people with her encyclopedic knowledge of sports and political minutiae.

Roger Rose

Roger Rose, Associate Professor of Political Science, teaches courses on American government, Congress, the Presidency, state and local government, research methods, policy making and human rights. His research focuses on public service motivation, civic and political engagement, and the American foreign policy process. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of California, Davis, and taught at UCD, Santa Clara University and Benedictine University (IL) before joining the faculty at UMM.
