UMM's Semester Q & A news
Semester's Q & A Now that we are in semesters, this page will summarize what has been going on in terms of discussions on new and old implementations. In particular, the proposed calendar for 2001-2005, whether to implement Fall Breaks or not, and statistical data for class schedules in academic year 1999-2000.

UMM Publications
[Adviser's Handbook] The Adviser's Handbook provides information on specific topics related to the conversion, such as: student record issues, dispute resolution, requirements, quarter vs. semester programs, timelines, and workshops.
[UMM Course Catalog] The UMM Course Catalog for 1999-2001 is the online version of the published UMM Catalog. It was published in April 1999 and will not be updated until 2001.
[Complete Course List] The Complete Course List (formerly called the Semester Transition Course Catalog) contains updated information for all semester courses on the Morris campus. This link goes to a database that is updated daily.
[Supplement to the Transition Course Catalog] The Supplement to the Semester Transition Course Catalog provides information about how quarter courses and sequences relate to semester courses and sequences. The supplement should be used with the Semester Transition Course Catalog or the on-line semester course database.
[Student Handbook] The Student Handbook answers common questions about the semester conversion for both undergraduate and graduate/professional students.
[General Education Program] A full description of the General Education Program for Semesters approved by the Campus Assembly in June, 1997.

UMM Planning Tools
[Program Completion Plans] Program Completion Plans allow students and advisers to plan for completion of either the quarter or semester requirements for any degree. The PCPs are also available in departmental offices. PCPs can be printed out and used in advising sessions.
[Liberal/General Education Planners] Planning worksheets are available here for both quarter and semester liberal/general education requirements on all campuses.
[Course Planner] Students can print out this planning worksheet and use it to plan their courses now, and through the semester transition.

General Information
[Four Year Graduation Plan] Information on and forms for the Four Year Graduation Guarantee, a list of excluded majors, and Checkpoint Charts for all included majors are available on this site. For information, contact the UMM Admissions Office.
[Frequently Asked Questions] These are answers to questions often asked about the semester conversion.
[Semester Calendars] Calendars are available here by campus with key dates listed for the first few years on the semester system.

[Summary of Differences] A summary of the differences between the quarter and semester systems is available here.

Requirements] A full description of the Academic Progress Requirements approved by the Campus Assembly in May 1997.
[Conversion Standards] The Semester Conversion Standards approved by the Campus Assembly in May 1996.
[Common Experience] A brief description of the Common Experience Course to be introduced in fall 1999.
