ArtS 1050: Beginning Ceramics

English 1002: Fundamentals of Writing II, SLR

Project: Students will plan and implement weekly activities for elders living in a long-tem care facility and write a series of reflective and analytic essays about the experience.

Eng 2993: Directed Study: Found Poetry and Service Learning, SLR

Faculty: Argie Manolis
Project: Students will facilitate groups of first-year students, assisting in planning and implementing weekly activities for elders at a long-term care facility. They will write found poems from the elders' words and create books of poetry and reflections for each elder and family.

IS 1993: Service-Learning Practicum
Faculty: Argie Manolis
Partner: MASD Afterschool Program/TREC
Project: This is a one credit class that is offered in conjunction with Introduction to Sociology. Students act as tutors in the TREC program, plan activities and reflect on their involvement in the program and the connections to Sociology.

IS 3993: Service-Learning Practicum

Partner: Stevens Community Humane Society
Project: One student is reading about fundraising and recruiting volunteers for non-profits and working on fundraising/recruiting projects for the Stevens Community Humane Society.

IS 4894 Global Issues Honors Consortium: Research and Writing Tutorial

Partners: Native Harvest, SCMC, MAES, UMM Admissions
Project: Students in this course will complete primary and secondary research and write a final report for community agencies that requested community-based research projects. These projects are continuations of projects begun in IS 3213H: The Theory and Practice of Community-Based Learning.

MGMT 3201: Marketing Principles and Strategies

Project: Students will work with an area business on a marketing plan.

Theater 2111: Creative Drama with Children, SLR
