Ph.D. University of Missouri
Professor Turner teaches courses and publishes articles on Spanish "reformers" (St. Teresa de Jesús, Mariano José de Larra, Camilo José Cela) and on representations of Spanish "character." He is a programmer for FLARR conferences (Foreign Language Association of the Red River). He was awarded the College of Continuing Education Distinguished Teaching Award and, in 2001, the prestigious Birkmaier Award for Outstanding Service and Support for World Languages and Cultures Education in Minnesota, awarded by the Minnesota Council on the Teaching of Languages and Cultures (MCTLC). Ph.D. University of Massachusetts
Professor Cabrera, the 2003 recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Research Award from UMM, specializes in the contemporary novel from Spain and Latin America, and he has written articles and five books on the subject. He also teaches Contemporary Hispanic Cinema. Originally from Ecuador, he is an esteemed novelist whose works include: La Noche del Te y El Gabán , La sombra del espía , El Hortelano de Ulba , and Los malditos amantes de Carolina. Homepage.

Stacey Parker Aronson
Ph.D. University of Minnesota
Professor Parker Aronson teaches courses in Spanish Peninsular literature, including that of the Golden Age, as well as all levels of Spanish and Portuguese language. Her research interests include 17th-century Spanish literature, particularly by women authors, and the themes of marriage and sexual violence. Recent scholarship includes articles on works by María de Zayas, Miguel de Cervantes, and Tirso de Molina. Homepage. |

James A. Wojtaszek
Ph.D. Rutgers University
Professor Wojtaszek specializes in 19th and Early 20th Century Peninsular Literature. His areas of research and publication have included the role of Modernity in Spain's "Generation of 1898," anarchism, Marxism and utopianism in 19th- Century Spain, Spanish Romanticism, and the practice and theory of translation. He has been a recipient of the University of Minnesota Faculty Summer Research Fellowship and the McKnight Foundation Summer Fellowship. Homepage.

Windy González Roberts
B.S. Lesley University
Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, teaching specialist Windy Roberts taught Spanish for nine years in high school at all levels, most recently at Morris Area High School. She was awarded Teacher of the Year by her district for the academic year 2006-2007. She has taught Methods of Teaching Foreign Language at UMM for the last three years and also several other courses in the secondary education program. She is currently working on her Masters degree in World Language Instruction from Concordia College. She is interested in getting students excited about the Spanish language and Hispanic culture.
