UMM Children's Theatre

Since 1969 the UMM Theatre Discipline has included a theatre production for young audiences as part of its yearly season. Approximately 4000 children, teachers, parents and community members attend the 12-show run of performances during the month of April. Originally, the discipline toured these shows to elementary and middle schools. When the award-winning HFA building at UMM was constructed, students were bussed to the campus. Currently all of the children's productions are produced in the Proscenium Theatre at UMM.

Study guides and workshops have been sponsored and facilitated by the UMM Service Learning Office: Argie Manolis, Wendy Hyatt, and Sarah Mattison.

We are dedicated to making this theatrical experience meaningful for area school children, educators, and members of the UMM community. For many of our audiences this will be their first exposure to live theatre.

We hope the experience will inspire a lifetime appreciation of theatre for everyone.
