Facilities

UMM Theatre is housed in the award-winning Humanities Fine Arts Building (First Design Award from Progressive Architecture Magazine). Facilities include two theatres - the 342 seat Proscenium Theatre, and the flexible Black Box Theatre which can accommodate audiences of about 50 to 200 depending upon its arrangement. The theatres are air conditioned and each has an adjoining control booth with a view of the stage for sound and lighting. The stage lighting control boards of each theatre respond to manual as well as computer generated commands. Other theatre facilities in the building include a rehearsal room, fully operational scene shop, dressing room, costume work room, and storage rooms for scenery, costumes, lighting equipment and props.
