Purpose of the class will be to study Wm. Shakespeare in an environment which takes advantage of the professional companies, the recreated Globe Theatre, and the outstanding museum opportunities offered in London.

We will learn about Shakespeare's life, and tour Stratford-upon-Avon, where he was born and is buried.

Class will meet on the following days/locations at 9 am until 11:30 am unless otherwise indicated:

June 18 Music Room

June 21 Music Room, Globe tour in afternoon

June 22 Julius Caesar, Globe (2 pm)

June 23 Garden Room

Class meetings will consist of sharing information about activities and sights in London since last we met; discussions of the plays; discussions of the productions.

After each production, a two to three page paper (handwritten) will be required which discusses the play and the production. There will be 5 of these required. Additionally, a critique of

Grades will be determined by participation in group activities, discussion during class periods, and quality of assigned written work.
