The University of Minnesota, Morris employs faculty honored for outstanding contributions to undergraduate education across the disciplines, including those recommended for Anthropology students. Professors at Morris excel at advising and mentoring students in pre-professional programs.
Faculty member Dr. Donna Chollett received grants for her research proposal “Theorizing the Intrinsic Virtuosity of a Grassroots Social Movement,” from the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, and the Imagine award for her proposal “Are Social Movements Morally Noble? Challenging the Intrinsic Virtuosity of Grassroots Social Movements.” She completed her ethnographic field work during the summer and fall of 2011 on a community affected by the closing of a sugar mill in rural Michoacán, Mexico.
