Alumnus Aaron Sharratt (Anthropology and Latin American Area Studies, 2004), participated in our Anthropology Field School in Mexico in 2004, completed his senior research project, “Exchange and the Environment: a study of agricultural practice and information transmission in the Gildardo Magaña Ejido, Los Angeles, Michoacán.” After completing an MA in anthropology at New Mexico State, he developed the Cultivando Tradición Community Garden Program to promote community gardens, greenhouses, and youth leadership in New Mexico and is currently co-founder and Executive Director of La Semilla Food Center.
