Computer Science at the University of Minnesota, Morris

The University of Minnesota, Morris computer science program combines a strong theoretical basis with extensive hands-on experience to develop long-term concepts and skills—preparing Morris graduates for the ever-changing computer science field. At Morris, students focus on the core of computer science such as algorithm development, software design, and hardware principles. In the third and fourth years, students select from a variety of topics courses, many of which grow out of student suggestions.

Personal interaction with faculty

Morris computer science students work closely with faculty and are provided with numerous opportunities for:

Student engagement

Our very active Computer Science Club and student ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) chapter provide excellent opportunities for students to get to know each other. The computer science faculty organizes events like guest speakers and field trips to conferences and businesses as well as social events like gaming parties and movie nights. We also host an annual programming contest with participants from the Morris campus and throughout the region.
