Summer Term at Morris provides an excellent opportunity for students to:

  • accelerate degree completion;
  • meet general education requirements (GER);
  • make up lost credits;
  • work while earning credits; and
  • live in Morris for the summer!

May Session and Summer Session courses are open to students from other colleges and community members (some courses have prerequisites). And registration is easy!

Summer Term at the University of Minnesota, Morris, which includes May Session, Summer Session I, and Summer Session II, offers a learning environment in which students can realize their academic and intellectual potential. Morris’s qualified and enthusiastic faculty offer an exciting challenge through a variety of courses.

Summer Term 2012 Dates *

May Session: Monday, May 14–Friday, June 1
Summer Session I: Monday, May 21–Friday, June 22
Summer Session II: Monday, June 25–Friday, July 27

May Session is a special three-week session designed to provide opportunities for faculty and students to participate in unique courses and other learning experiences in a short, concentrated time frame.

Summer Sessions I and II provide opportunities for students to earn from two to five credits for completed courses in a five-week time frame. Some courses are in the traditional classroom format, while others are offered online. Online Learning courses offer the same academic rigor as on campus courses using multimedia and web-based technologies.

IS 1041 Health Science Terminology, an independent study course, and Math 1014 Intensive Precalculus, an online course, are offered for the duration of Summer Sessions I and II.

CMR 2431 International Communication Competence, a 2 credit course, will be offered July 17–August 9, 2012
