Students are often unaware of their responsibilities with regard to receiving services and accommodations from the Office of Academic Success. Below is some general information on student responsibilities and some specific procedures for some of the more commonly requested accommodations.
- Bring your class schedule to the Office of Academic Success (OAS) as soon as you complete registration; it is impossible to accommodate you, without it—a late schedule may have negative consequences
- If you will be having exams proctoredin the OAS you must inform our staff of exam dates and which exams you will be taking in our office via Google Calendar. Know your testing responsibilities when it comes to taking exams in our office.
Note-Taking
If you require a Note-Taker you must:
- Attend class regularly
- Inform our staff if you no longer need notes
- Inform our staff of any problems with notes
- Know how to access notes on the web
Books on Audio
If you require Books in Audio Format you must:
- Bring copies of your textbook and receipt of payment to our office as soon as you get them
- Fill out request form for books on audio
- Check for and pick up Cd’s consistently
Academic Assistance
If you would like additional academic assistance, it is your responsibility to:
- Sign up for Peer Tutors
- Utilize professors’ or teaching assistants’ office hours; and
- Make appointments with OAS staff to explore other resources
