About Cougar Athletics

UMM is an NCAA Division III member of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Members of the UMAC include:

College of St. Scholastica: Duluth, MN
Crown College: St. Bonifacius, MN
Martin Luther College: New Ulm, MN
Northland College: Ashland, WI
Northwestern College: St. Paul, MN
Presentation College: Aberdeen, SD
U. of Minnesota, Morris: Morris, MN

Over 300 students participate in ten sports for women and nine for Men. The Cougars have proven to be competitive members of the UMAC winning numerous regular season and post-season tournament championships in recent years.

Among the strongest scholars on campus, UMM athletes consistently achieve academic all-conference honors; the soccer team was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for academic excellence five years in a row.
