For Immediate Release:, February 15, 2008 Morris, MN – The University of Minnesota, Morris women’s swimming and diving team will take part in the 2008 Liberal Arts Championships.

The 2008 meet will be held at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois Thursday February 21st-Saturday February 23rd.

Last year, the Cougars set 13 new school records, established 23 season best times and had several lifetime best times set at just one meet.

So Far this season the Cougars have set 8 school records and been just a hair off several more records that they are looking to breaking at the LAC, along with trying to move up even further in the team standings.

Cougar Head Coach Dave Molesworth said, “I can not believe we are at this point in the season already it does not seem that long ago that we were getting ready to get in for our first practice. This team has worked so hard this season I am very excited to see what this meet will be like for us, and what kind of times and scores we are able to achieve. This is the time of the year every coach hangs their hopes on because we as a team do so much work all year and this meet is the culmination of all that work, and this group of ladies have truly set themselves up to have a phenomenal championship.”
