After taking a 2-1 lead into the half time break, the Bethel University Royals scored three times in the second half and opened up a close game en route to a 5-1 win over Minnesota, Morris in game one of the 2008 Cougar Soccer Classic. Bethel took a 1-0 advantage at the 10:56 markof the first half and then made it 2-0 at 29:45. Minnesota, Morris cut the deficit in half and got right back in the game as Maddy Gerber (Jr. Mahtomedi, Minn) scoring her first goal of the season in Maddie Haisley's (Jr. Albuquerquen N.M.) first assist of the year with three and a half minutes to go before the half time break to make it 2-1. The Royals scored the three second half goals over the games final 28 minutes to go onto the 5-1 win.
