
In their final match of the 2008 UW-Stout tournament, the University of Minnesota, Morris lost a heart breaker to UW-Stevens Point 3-1 (22-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-25).
After falling behind two sets to none, UMM rallied for a 25-23 win over the pointers. But Stevens Poinst won the third set four 25-15 to win the match.
Briana Czer (Sr. New Ulm, Minn.) led the offense with 10 kills for UMM (3-4).
Sophomore setter Sam Pfannenstein (Rockville, Minn) and freshman Natalie Thomas recorded their first double-doubles of the season.
Pfannenstein had 15 digs and 14 assists, while Thomas had 13 digs and 12 assists.
Collen Hermes (So. White Bear Lake, Minn.) had a team high 25 digs and Tanya Marthaler (Fr. Osakis, Minn added 11.
Briana Czer was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Cougars will take part in this weekend's College of Saint Catherine Triangular.
On Saturday, the 30th they will play the University of Dallas at 12:00 PM and then the college of St. Catherin at 2:00.
