Minnesota, Morris will complete the home and home series with the Comets Monday at 7:00 PM at the UMM P.E. Center.
Monday's game begins something new and exciting for Cougar Athletics.
The game will be carried on the Cougar Sports Network (CSN) with live audio and video webcasting and live stats on the web from the game as well.
Beginning Monday, the Cougar Sports Network will do this for all men’s and woman’s home games.
Matt Senger, UMM Computing Services, is working to merge live video and audio content with the statistical data used by Brian Curtis, UMM sports information director.
CSN will also provide play-by-play coverage over a special low power FM radio transmitter system in the P.E. Center, allowing fans to enjoy the Web cast with their radio headphones tuned to 104.5 FM. “We have a great product in the Web cast, we want the fans in the stands to enjoy the play-by-play coverage of the game as well,” said Cihak.
The games have been broadcast with just audio the past couple of years, but now video and stats will be added. Paul Schwarz will continue to do play-by-play.
The goal of the Cougar Sports Network is to provide access to UMM Cougar athletics events to fans, UMM alumni, families of student athletes, prospective student athletes, and fans of visiting teams.
It is hopeful to expand this to other home athletic events in the future.
Fans can find the CSN by logging onto the Cougar Athletic website at www,ummcougars.org. Then on the left click Cougars live and then click the go button.
So bring your radio and tune into 104.5 FM.
