WBB vs. North Central University (101-33)

Diane Blommel (So. Grey Eagle, Minn.) scored a career high 21 points in leading five Cougars in double didgits as Minnesota, Morris put up a season high 101 points in a 101-33 win at the P.E. Center Friday night.

UMM jumped out to a 12-0 lead, scoring on five of their first nine possessions in the first four minutes of the game.

After a two plus minute scoring drought, Nikki Washek (Fr. Underwood, Minn. Hit a long three to put the Cougars on top 15-0 with 14:15 to go in the first half at 15-2.

From that point on, Minnesota, Morris held North Central to four field goals while scoring the Rams 27-8 and headed to the locker room with a commanding 42-8 lead.

The Cougars scored 30 of their 42 first half points off NCU turnovers.

UMM shot 45 percent from the field in the half.

The Cougars continued their strong play in the 2nd half shooting 51 percent (25-49) outscoring the Rams 59-25 and connecting on 44-of-91 shots from the field (48%)

Eleven different Cougars cracked the scoring column, five in double digits.

After Blommel's career high 21, Jenni Noordmans (Fr. Hancock, Minn.) added 18 points and seven boards. Tynell Kocer (Sr. Pierre, S.D.), Coresa Leighty (Sr. New Ulm, Minn) 13 and Nikki Washek 12.

North Central committed 44 turnovers, a season high for a Cougar opponent.

Minnesota-Morris travels to Marshall for a non-conference match-up with South West Minnesota State at & 6:00.
