From the start the Cougars went right at the Saints who did not ever have a lead throughout the entire game. At half the Cougars had a comfortable 16 point lead which they built on in the second half to open up a 25 point lead with 6 minutes left in the game. With a 19 point win over the Saints the Cougars will advance to the semifinal round of the UMAC tournament and earn the right to play the number one seeded Saints of St. Scholastica Thursday Feb. 26th at 7:30pm in Duluth, MN. Zach Meyer(Fr. Cottonwood, Mn) lead the Cougars with 24 points and tied with Dan Fragodt(So. Benson, MN) and Kendall Proell(Jr. Osakis, MN) all with six rebounds. Kendall and Jeremy Bosch(Jr. Salol, MN) both added 13 points each to the Cougars score. The Cougars as a team shot 60% from the floor, and out rebounded the Saints 39-26.
