Fresh off a convincing sweep of Mount Marty College, the Cougar volleyball team played with surging confidence against York College, dispatching the Panthers in three games: 25-17, 25-20, 25-18.
The Panthers never really threatened in any of the games, each marked by long service runs by Cougar players.
Junior Sam Pfannenstein held service runs of seven points in games one and two, just part of her contribution which also included 14 assists for the match. Natalie Thomas had a team-high 21 assists.
Offensively Megan Theis led the attack with 11 kills. Justine Banken recorded 9 and Allie Humphrey and Jordan Olerud each had six a piece.
Defensively, it was a group effort: five Cougars recorded four digs or more. Theis and Banken had four block assists each for a team count of 5.5.
The two wins on the night evened the Cougars season record at 4-4.
The Cougars are back to the hardwood next weekend at the St. Ben's tournament where they'll face four MIAC opponents in two days.
