As the Cougar sports teams move toward the post-season and conference tournaments, the overall play of our student-athletes continues to improve and impress. The following individuals were selected as players of the week in the Upper Midwest Conference this week:

Linda Keller (women's cross country/Paynesville, Minn.)
A first-year student-athlete, Keller dominated the Cobber Invitational with a first-place finish in 23:10, 48 seconds ahead of her nearest rival. Keller has placed first in every conference meet this season.

Andrew Rehmann (men's cross country/Roseville, Minn.)
Rehmann won the men's division of the Cobber Invitational, running the 8k trail in 28:14. It was Rehmann's first career victory.

Maddy Gerber (women's soccer/Mahtomedi, Minn.)
The senior captain moved to the forward position over the weekend and with sparkling results. In back-to-back wins, Gerber had three goals and four assists.

Patrick O'Connor (men's soccer/Ham Lake, Minn.)
The senior captain and four-year starter scored three goals and two assists in wins over Martin Luther and Bethany Lutheran. O'Connor leads the UMAC in assists with 12.

Dana Veth (men's soccer/Ham Lake, Minn.)
Veth anchored a backline of defenders that posted two shutouts over the weekend, limited their opponents to just six shots in two games.
