The Cougar women’s soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a triumphant 8-0 win over an undermanned Presentation College this afternoon.
Snow the day before moved the game to Big Cat Stadium and the added speed of the field turf played into the hands of the Cougars who scored early and often. Fittingly, seniors Maddy Gerber (1 goal, 1 assist) and Nina Jarnot (2 assists) led the way, even connecting on their own score at the 51:44 mark.
Presentation came into the game fielding only 10 players and then lost another to injury in the first half, which led to an onslaught of scoring late in the first half and early in the second.
Head coach Dan Magner played his entire available roster. With the win, the Cougars now move into the UMAC tournament. They will play their first game at St. Scholastica in Duluth on Tuesday afternoon (game time 2 p.m.)
