Spend a month exploring the "city of lights" while taking intensive French courses at the Sorbonne. Imaging fireworks shooting through the art nouveau ironwork of the Eiffel Tower on Bastille Day, and cyclists from around the world crossing the finish line of the Tour de France. Imagine seeing all the great masterworks of French art, visiting the American cemetery at Normandy Beach, roaming the medieval streets of Mont Saint Michel, and eating fresh seafood on the northerly beaches of Saint Malo. Imagine strolling through the chateau and gardens of Louis XIV at Versailles and seeing the rose window at Notre Dame. Imagine walking in the footsteps of Sartre and de Beauvoir, and Piaf. Imagine yourself in Paris.
Excursions: Whether individually or as a group, participants will have the opportunity to see most of Paris' landmarks and cultural sites. Two to three afternoons per week are devoted to group excursions; other afternoons are free. Two weekends are scheduled and two are free to travel outside of Paris or France.
Lodging: Each participant has a single room at the Fondation des Etats-Unis, an American-style campus for students, right in the middle of Paris. There are sports facilities, dining, ATM, computer lab, laundry, and other amenities on the premises.
