UMM Scholarships for Study Abroad

“I'd love to study abroad, but I can't afford it.”

If you’ve said this, think again.  There are a multitude of funding options available starting with your regular financial aid and including scholarships, fee reductions, loans and more.  This website provides information on these options and anticipates common questions about financial aid for study abroad.  By studying these options and planning ahead, you can add a new dimension to your undergraduate experience.

UMM All-Programs Scholarships

UMM is participating in an all-Univesrity effort to internationalize its curriculum. To assist in that effort, UMM has nineteen (19) $750.00 study abroad scholarships. These scholarships may be applied to any UMM program including the English Language Teaching Assisant Program (ELTAP), Global Student Teaching (GST), the exchanges with Korea, Japan and France, or any study abroad program moffered through UMM's May or Summer sessions. Scholarships are open to all students, first year through senior!

Applications are available in the Center for International Programs, 231 Community Services Building, or by request at cip@morris.umn.edu.

Deadlines:

November 14, 2005 for Winter Break, Spring Break and Spring Semester 2006 programs

February 13, 2006 for May Session and summer programs

April 24, 2006 for academic year 2006-07 and Fall Semester 2006 programs

UMM Early Application Scholarship

Sign up early for any UMM May or Summer Session 2005 study abroad program and be eligible for a $500 scholarship. All early applicant names will be put in a drawing to win the scholarship.

This scholarship will be taken as a reduction to the program fee.

Deadline: December 16, 2005

UMM Multicultural Study Abroad Scholarship

This is a scholarship offered to encourage students of diverse backgrounds to study abroad. This year, 3 (three) $750.00 scholarships are available to students to study through any UMM study abroad program--May and summer, ELTAP, GST, our exchanges in Japan, Korea, and France, or other approved programs.

Deadline: Same as UMM scholarships listed above
