Summer Session 2009

The UMM Summer Term offers a variety of courses that fulfill general education and major requirements. Many students find that summer session is a good time to:

« accelerate degree completion
« make up lost credits
« have a summer job and earn credits

Summer Session classes are open to students from other colleges and the community. We offer a simple “summer only” admittance and registration procedure. Registration for the Summer Term begins March 25. Visit the Summer Session website for complete descriptions of these courses and detailed scheduling information.

“Summer Only” (Nonadmitted) Student
Students who are not degree-seeking students at the University of Minnesota should complete a Registration/Cancel-Add Form. Form can be found at the following website: http://www.morris.umn.edu/services/registrar/

Registration
Students planning to attend Summer Term on the Morris campus may register for all sessions beginning March 25. The Summer Term Class schedule can be viewed online at: http://www.morris.umn.edu/services/registrar/register.html

Summer registration is not queued and is available through self-registration on the web or in-person.

Students should fill out a Registration/Cancel-Add Form (even if self-registering). Forms are also available online at: http://www.morris.umn.edu/services/registrar/

Grading System
UMM utilizes the ABCD/No Credit (ABCD-F) and a Satisfactory-No Credit (S-N) grading system. Grading choice must be indicated at the time of registration and applies to all UMM Summer Term courses. Graduate courses or courses from other units of the University may be governed by different grading policies. For a complete description of UMM’s grading system and policies, consult the website:

Transcript Information
Transcripts (official and unofficial) of all courses completed through Continuing Education/Summer Session are maintained in the UMM Registrar’s Office. Official copies may be obtained by writing to: Registrar’s Office; University of Minnesota, Morris, 600 E. 4th St., Morris, MN 56267. Fax service is also available. Tuition and Fees* for Summer Term
The following tuition and fees are payable by each student, resident or nonresident:

Tuition (per credit)
$316.54 (resident tuition)
$316.54 (non-resident tuition)
$316.54 (summer only/non-admitted)

Summer Programs Fee —
$20 first session; $15 second session. Students registering for both five-week sessions pay a $30 fee. Summer Programs Fee not charged in the May Session.

All-University Fee
$50 per credit for 1-9 credits and $500 for 10 or more credits. Assessed to all University students.

RFC Fee
Students enrolled for 7 or more credits and living on campus will be charged $50.

Minnesota Public Interest Research Group (MPIRG)
$4.13 (refusable/refundable)

Payment
Bills for summer tuition and fees are mailed from the UMM Business Office. Refer to their website for specific monthly payment deadlines in the summer:

Refunds
All refunds for tuition and fees are issued on a per-credit basis according to the refund rate that applies to the effective date of cancellation. Cancellations are effective the day you officially  cancel—not on the date you stopped attending classes. If you stop attending class for any reason, cancel immediately online or by processing a completed Cancel/Add Form. To receive a refund, you must cancel within the time periods outlined on the following links:
