Consultative Committee

Absent:  Rebecca Webb

* Absent seats on Consultative Committee:  the chair will find out the
dates of campus assembly; student members will check on the status of
elections.  All of us should consider nominees.

* Increase in health care costs for staff:  The chair obtained documents
that explained what was to be done with money saved from a
lower-than-expected health care increase.  After discussion, CC decided
that there was no further action or role needed.

* Food Services Committee:  Discussion of the charge and membership of
this committee.  

* Technology:  Questions arose regarding a UMM "vision" for technology in
terms of infrastructure, curriculum, etc.  Questions also arose regarding
the student technology fee.  It may be possible to meet with Andy Lopez as
chair of CRPC or chair of the search committee for Director of Computing
Services.  These individuals may be invited to future CC meetings for
discussion.

* RA hiring procedures:  Student members have heard peers voice concerns
over the process for hiring RA's on campus.  CC may invite Henry Fulda and
others to hear these concerns and respond.
