Consultative Committee Minutes
Sept. 28, 2007

Present: Nancy Carpenter (XO), Margaret Kuchenreuther, Alex Murphy, 
Jeff Ratliff-Crain, Jennifer Zych Herrmann, Interim Dean Roland

Absent:  Brad Deane (on leave), Pam Gades, Judy Korn, Maggie Larson

Announcements:  Bonnie Tipke and Sarah Mattison have both decided to 
step down from the committee.  Replacements for them have not been 
named.

Election of Chair:  The committee needs to elect a chair for the year 
but delayed that action until the next meeting because of lack of a 
quorum.

Institutional Self-Study for NCA review: Roland visited with the 
committee about the upcoming North Central Association accreditation 
process.  The NCA visit is scheduled for spring 2010 but UMM's 
self-study documents must be ready for the visiting team by fall 
2009.  A steering committee for the self-study is currently being 
formed.  Faculty representatives have already been chosen and include 
Michael Korth (chair), Jeff Ratliff-Crain, Gwen Rudney and Barbara 
Burke.  Guyotte talked with the committee about the composition of 
the rest of the committee.

Registrar Search:  Roland also discussed the need to move from an 
Interim Registrar to a permanent hire in the position.  After 
discussion, the committee decided that a national search for a 
Registrar was appropriate.
