*	Dean John Schwaller was a guest for the meeting to discuss changes in the 
Personnel Plan that was implemented in May 2001.  It contains some changes to 
academic appointments.  These changes were discussed.  
*	Categories heavily at use here at UMM are A, B, F, and H.  Unlikely to use C, D, 
E, and rarely G.   
*	Clarification of type B, in which no expectation of tenure, by Schwaller
*	Discussed example of contracted positions in College Writing
*	Contract faculty discussed at length (type B)
*	Mary provided the perspective of payroll, which was treating it not exactly the 
same was as a strict appointment, in order to fairly pay people for their work.
*	Schwaller discussed review process.
*	Discussion of coaches and teaching, the idea being they would fit better in H 
being expressed by the Dean.
*	Distinction between B & G a matter of terminal degrees (usually).
*	The issue of teaching less than a full load but more than Adjunct is problematic
*	Discussion of annual renewable and continuous appointment
*	Schwaller would get us the URL for the larger policy document.
*	After Schwaller left, we discussed teaching load and the issue of expecting 
contract faculty (new ones) to teach 6 courses.  Future discussion is needed.
