UMM Consultative Committee
Meeting Date: December 5, 2003

Absent:  Joyce Amborn, Reggie Davis, Margaret Kuchenreuther, Jeff

International Students Update:  As reported in the University Register by Dana Madden, 
four international students will lose their housing subsidies as of the beginning of 
December.  The situation arose after Catholic Charities, which manages the Key Row 
complex, stated their intent to come into compliance with federal policy.  Tom 
McRoberts, director of Center for International Programs, worked with Harvey Schmitt, 
the director of Catholic Charities, to extend the deadline for full payment of rent until 
January 1.  The extra cost of rent will be covered by Key Row.

Consultative Committee Election:  Two students announced their petitions of intent to 
serve as a member of the committee.  All students are eligible to vote in the election of a 
new student representative on Wednesday, December 10 in the Student Center.

Discussion of Interim Appointment Positions:  Sandy Olson-Loy met with the committee 
to discuss two interim positions of Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Director of 
Student Activities.

The meeting adjourned with the last scheduled meeting of the semester set
for Monday, December 8 at 8:30am.
