Assessment |
Assessment:
Students will be expected to complete daily reading assignments and
participate in class discussions of the materials. There will be two in-class
exams, periodic journal submissions, a research paper and an in-class group
presentation. Goals: Students should demonstrate the ability to analyze
literary texts, using the text as well as the aesthetic, political,
historical, and philosophical context in which the work was produced. |
|||
|
Rationale for |
OUR
CURRENT PROGRAM STRUCTURE INCLUDES BROAD COVERAGE OF PENINSULAR SPANISH
LITERATURE. THIS COURSE PROVIDES IN-DEPTH COVERAGE OF A KEY TOPIC IN SPANISH
LITERATURE AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO WIDER HISTORICAL, POLITICAL, SOCIOLOGICAL
AND PHILOSOPHICAL TRENDS OF THE PERIOD. IT ALSO ALLOWS FOR A MORE COMPLETE
COVERAGE OF INDIVIDUAL AUTHORS, WHO, AS IS OFTEN THE CASE IN BROADER SURVEY
COURSES, ARE NOT ALWAYS FAIRLY REPRESENTED BY ONE TEXT |
